I've read this before on the show, but it's just this beautiful little opening to William Irwin Thompson's The Time Falling Bodies Take to Light.

Maybe he's being a little antagonistic towards scientists here, but he does demonstrate how inevitable myth is.

And I love the way in your dissertation you speak.

And you can see that he's able to access that.

But then the minute it hits or it starts to feel a little bit like the kind of thing that he's opposed to, then he suddenly recoils from it.

Anyways, this is the opening to the prologue of this book by William Irwin Thompson.

Take a photograph of a reflection in a mirror and think of that piece of film, which will in turn reflect an image to the curving surfaces of the eye and the folding surfaces of the brain.
