William D. Wittliff

Yeah.

Bill Wittliff just killed it with Lonesome Dove, as did all the actors.

Um, you know, yeah, one of the great Westerns of all time.

And then I will say there's a, uh, in case no one's seen it, there's a hilarious one with Jack Nicholson called Goin' South.

My God.

It was adapted by William Wittliff, a screenwriter who would go on to write movies like Legends of the Fall and The Perfect Storm.

Simon Wincer directed all four episodes.

As a result of this, he would go on to have a reasonably successful career as a director of movies, often Westerns.
