William Clarke

It was an interesting, you know, set of circumstances.

And what had happened, sort of by default, I had, um, I had managed to play on quite a few records, uh, and I had become something of a, of a studio guy in addition to the fact of, of seven years straight with Rod Piara and the Mighty Flyers and a few years before that with William Clarke's band.

Uh, but I was doing a l- playing on a lot of people's records around Los Angeles area, which was wonderful, and I really enjoyed it.

But what I had noticed as being a sideman and within this world of blues music was, which has always been a niche market and, uh, always independent labels, in other words, not big budget kind of recordings, um, the time constraints were always really tight.

Mm.

Um, and, uh, now I go back and I listen, and I'm really, really proud of those records.

And the William Clarke things, you know, the same thing.

I mean, those, those, those have stood the test of time.
