Will Lovelace

What the documentary does do, as it skips around the world, from Wales, Ireland, Los Angeles, South Korea, Argentina and Brazil, which I learnt by studying the closing credits, is how universal their music is and how it unites music lovers of every strength, young and old, black, Asian, Waysian and white.

As a concert movie, it works very well by conjuring up the excitement and adrenaline of these major events and is directed by Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, who previously covered Blur on their 2010 documentary No Distance Left to Run.

Although I wish I had learnt more, I did really enjoy it because I do love their music.

But if it's a documentary, what on earth was Steve Knight's role? That I could not comprehend unless he just structured it.

Um, so yes, funny enough, I joined just as Kate was talking about that, where Liam tweets about the family meeting Easter, and that was literally my first thought every time Steven Knight has done all the... 'Cause it's only been Steven Knight, and Dylan Sutherland, and Will Lovelace doing the promo.

Well, last week, isn't it? And that, that's kind of my thought like when, uh, Steven Knight's been saying, oh, it's the first time they saw each other.

You know, the photo shoot and that's it.

Well, it should have been.

Um, it's directed by Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, who are a pair of documentarians who've made a few films sort of like this.

They made the Meet Me In The Bathroom film.

They made LCD, uh, Play The Hits.

so a friend was at a, a Q&A in London over the weekend with, uh, Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, and the f- the footage that you see of rehearsals where Liam shows up-

Yeah.

Yeah, the caveats are more to do with the actual filmmaking than the band itself, I'd say.

Like, one thing I was confused about was the fact that not only does this film, which is described as part documentary, part concert film, it has two directors, Dylan Sutherland and Will Lovelace.

They've both made some incredible music documentaries and concert films over the years.

They made... no distance left to run about blur um shut up and play the hits about lcd sound system they did that meet me in the bathroom documentary but it also has a creator slash writer who is stephen knight who is the creator and showrunner of peaky blinders and and house of guinness and i can see the face you're making i'm

She was brilliant.

And also Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, who sound like two actresses from one of Dom's favourite kind of movie.

But Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern are two of the guys, the directors from the Don't Look Back in Anger Oasis documentary film.

All of them have been on the show this week.

They're all going to be on the show today and you're going to hear them.

We're going to talk about Oasis and making that documentary of Live 25.

Because I knew they were going to do this.

The two directors, Will Lovelace and Dylan Southern, they both made a few kind of performance titles before, including No Distance Left to Run.

And so it kind of does feel like a concert film in so much they... kind of the beginning, you've got some of that, some of their songs, and then it's not until the, to the end that they turn to that, that, you know, wonder and don't look back in anger.

You know, they're going to leave that to the kind of the, you know, the climax.
