i'd miss a month of the season that's okay as long as we get baseball next year i can't go without a baseball season curious about

this because there's going to be a lot of changes that will be on the table in and out over the next few months one of them that does stick out to me is interesting and it's interesting because of the position you hold is one of the play-by-play voices for nebraska baseball what do you think of this this idea from the ownership group to shrink the draft to shrink the MLB draft, and thereby, you would say, would shrink the farm systems as well, which is a cost-saving measure for them, and offloads some of the development of the future of the game to collegiate coaches like Will Bolt, Rob Childress, Sirianni, among others.

I don't like it.

And for a lot of the reason that you've seen, you know, from the college game, there's definitely that impact.

Like, those are two places that really go in on JC guys.

When I was just at Nebraska last night and talking with Will Bolt about their JUCO class, and it's just like, think of all the success Nebraska has had historically with the JUCO guys.

Oh, man.

And they did that again, I think, with this class.

But also, if you're wanting to take advantage of the great weather and you're wanting to get out there and continue to be a part of that momentum that this baseball program out in Lincoln provided, uh, not just last year, but the last couple of years, well, you got a, uh, kind of fun little fall matchup going on at 6:00 out at Haymarket Park.

It is gonna be Nebraska taking on Creighton, and so we're gonna talk all about this with the head man himself, Will Bolt, joining us here on the show.

How are you, coach?

We're hanging on for dear life.

They have a, a lot of new faces on their team as well, but, uh, we learned a lot, a lot about our team and, and like I said, there were some good, good outings for some newcomers, um, and some guys that, uh, may be household names that, you know, that, um, you know, played well too.

So, um, yeah, look forward to getting back out and playing somebody else again.

I, I remember talking to you, uh, shortly after it was just the overall, the natural part of the, the postseason, and that's the, the roster attrition, whether it's, uh, due to eligibility, being exhausted, or, or guys looking for other, you know, opportunities, and then also bringing in other guys.

And, um, you know, it's, it's so much fun to follow what Danny is doing with her team.

Um, but Amy Williams in women's basketball, Ron Ravel softball, Will Bolt baseball, Mark Manning, uh, wrestling, all across, I could go on and on and on.

Uh, but we've had that passion.

Even in the struggling years, Gary, our fans still showed up.
