Will Arbery

So right now in your career, what are you most excited about? What are you eager about in terms of the projects or the hypothetical things that might be coming down the pipeline besides just like the Romeo and Juliet and the other beautiful things that we've put into the space?

um Will Arbery has a new play that we're trying to figure out when to do I'm also really trying to do a revival of Heroes of the Fourth Turning which continues to be yeah like a text that lives so loud in me um I really believe in Rachel Bonds um she has an amazing play that is so challenging and funny and I think people are afraid to do it right

now

but they should do it um Kimberly Bellflower obviously her new play is really I wept and wept when I read it uh it's so gorgeous it's so different than John Proctor she's brilliant um but I'm I am excited about like the voices that I don't know yet and trying to see theater that is being done on a smaller scale and I think I am also really thinking about how to make spaces for directors who are just starting out.

uh romaine gervas right is it gervas i think it's gervas uh so romaine gervas who uh is not known for much period um or no gavras romay romay yeah roman gavras he's uh french he's he's from paris anyway okay One of the writers on this is what caught me, because it's Will Arbery.

Now, Will Arbery, for all of you who are so familiar with him, because I know you know that name, is one of the writers for Succession.

Now, when I say one of, when you have a show like Succession, every season might see a shift in the writing room depending on the tone that they're going for depending on what they're doing depending on who got offers to go work on other things because it's like one of the biggest shows in the world while it's running Will Arbery worked on Succession that is a mark to his credit So I was like, OK, if you have somebody who's writing alongside like these amazing producers that worked on Succession, right? The writers, the creators, the producers on Succession, everybody was phenomenal.

I think that shows a 10 out of 10.

So like I'm like, OK, you came from there and you're working on Sacrifice.

So it is a very, very interesting and I think extremely pertinent discussion in the form of a play for everyone to see and hear now.

House of the Fourth Turning by Will Arbery at a Red Orchard Theater from October 29th to December 6th, opening or beginning previews October 29th.

It's just a week before the midterm election.

So it could have, it's not going to impact the election, but it could certainly color the way, depending on how the election turns out, could color the way people react to it.
