Wicklow Gaol

Michal, myself shared an unhealthy kind of interest in hanging and hangmen.

And he asked me to write a book, a booklet on Wicklow Jail.

And for one reason or another, it never happened.

But we had a lot of discussions about hangmen.

And even to discuss as well, Ryan and I both know, we also had a lot of audio that we never even got to go through.

I mean, it's funny because I just thought of this morning of some of the audio from when we were at the Wicklow Jail.

I have still not gone through my AVPs from Wicklow Jail.

I didn't even listen to the audio at all.

And I know there was really good EVPs because when I played them back in the recorder, they were there.

And I come up the ladders and I threw the DR-60.

seeing Greg back at the the base room after that he was back at the base room and told him what happened he says I've never seen you look like this I've never seen you be like this because he knows me from all the investigations we do so that was probably the most scariest thing that I remember happening and it's never happened since it's never happened anywhere since so but on actual evidence I think there's so much that we got and a lot of things that probably didn't even get put out as well that's sitting on recorders or sitting within our files that we probably should put out at some point and let people hear it because some of the captures are just absolutely mind-blowing and the stories of the locations that we went into things that Chris said things that Evelyn pulled forward it's all there

Yeah, it's, you know, I'd love to be able to, when I get some time to go back through the Wicklow jail audio with some of those responses.

I don't know what the fuck it is, so here we go.

Well, lad, what's the crack? Come here, I'm just listening to the podcast here, and I've been listening to the bit where your man was on about Wicklow, or not fucking Wicklow Jail, Limerick Prison, and the executions in it.

I heard a story years ago, right, about Wicklow Jail, and that the reason the executions stopped in Wicklow Jail was to do with the fishermen.

They were objecting because the bodies were being disposed of in the sea, and And now this bit could be, that bit's true, but this bit could be a rumour or like a fucking fictional story to add on to it.

But they were saying that like the fish were turning red and that's why the fishermen stopped or wanted them to stop doing the executions in the prison.
