Whitsunday Region

It's not a town with a main street and a pub you can point to on a postcard.

It's a rural locality in the Whitsunday region.

This is inland from the coast, about fifty-five kilometers southwest of Bowen and thirty-two kilometers northeast of Collinsville.

Now, for us Americans, that's about thirty-four miles from Bowen and twenty miles from Collinsville.

I lived on the Gold Coast when we started the first park run, but I now live in a place called Airlie Beach, which is in the Whitsunday region of Queensland.

It's famous for Whitehaven Beach, which is the 10-kilometer stretch of beach that is on most advertising commercials for Australia.

So, yeah, it's a little bit of paradise where I live, which is great.
