And my mother had taken over that great aunt's dancing school, just a little local school.

My sister was at the Royal Ballet School at White Lodge from the age of 10, and that's when I was born.

And my middle sister went to arts education.

So there was very much dance theatre training in my life.

remember going to

watch Ballet for All as a pupil at White Lodge, as a young student of ballet.

And it seemed to me it was just following on from everything I was learning in history of ballet.

Suddenly it was being made visible on the stage.

So it included folk dance and the quarter blue, the 14th, and all of that, the progression of really making a ballet technique.

So I remember a lot of the programs explaining that.

And yes, when I left White Lodge, I thought that was the end of six years of Morris dancing.

But no, we had more.

And I have a second son, Evan, who is...

Well, he was fif- well, 14, but he turned 15 in October, and he started in White Lodge.

So I can give experience through White Lodge and upper school at Royal Ballet School.

Fantastic.

And where is Peter dancing now?

So that Royal Ballet was good for that 'cause they have an academic program, you know, and the training is, of course, the Royal Ballet.

That's great.

We sent to White Lodge.

That's pretty cool, isn't

it? Richmond Park contains many significant buildings, including a Grade 1 listed White Lodge, completed in 1730 and formerly a Royal Residence, now home to the Royal Ballet School.

The family originally lived at White Lodge in Richmond Park in London, but they moved to a more modest home in Piccadilly in 1926.
