White House Gender Policy Council

Under the Biden administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has refused to acknowledge the gender disparity in suicide rates.

The White House Gender Policy Council has not tackled a single issue facing primarily boys and men.

There have been initiatives to promote women in STEM and construction, but nothing about encouraging men into teaching on mental health.

There are women's health research initiatives, but no office on men's health.

She is an Associate Professor of Professional Practice and Director of the Institute of Global Politics Women's Initiative at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.

Most recently, she served in the Biden administration as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of the White House Gender Policy Council and as Special Advisor on Gender at the White House National Security Council.

And previously, Rachel Vogelstein was the Douglas Dillon Senior Fellow and Director of the Women in Foreign Policy program here at CFR.

Um, so with that, I'm gonna turn it over you-- to you, Rachel, to introduce our distinguished panelists.

Uh, Katie directs the Health Policy and Law Initiative at Georgetown, where she's also a professor.

Uh, during the Biden-Harris administration, she was the deputy assistant to the president, deputy director of the White House Gender Policy Council.

And very importantly, uh, Katie and Tim are the masters of rapid response who have played such a huge role in making Health Affairs Forefront what it is today.
