Whatever that is, whatever punk rock kids playing country music is, that's what I want to do.

And we had a band in Raleigh that was doing that called whiskey town.

Uh, they had a lead singer named Ron Adams and they were, I remember I was a freshman in college and, And I heard Whiskey Town, Stranger's Almanac, The Backsliders, Throwing Rocks at the Moon, and Six String Drag, Tiff Merritt, John Howie, and $2.

That whole Raleigh scene was just doing that.

It was punk rock kids playing country music.

And in 2000, Ryan Adams released Heartbreaker.

This was his solo debut album following the breakup of his alt-country band, Whiskey Town.

He recorded it in just 14 days in Nashville.

It is still considered to this day to be a modern Americana classic.
