While My Guitar Gently Weeps

One of the reasons why it's such a big, long album, a big double album, is that there were John songs, there were Paul songs, there were George songs.

So you take While My Guitar Gently Weeps, one of the best Beatles songs.

That's a George song.

It has a guitar solo actually by Eric Clapton.

[laughs]

Um, you could almost say side two was a single, but, um, no, George Harrison, Guitar Gently Weeps.

Is that on there?

Uh, no.

These are all great things.

But then when we perform and people come up to me and they say, man, I really appreciate how you played the solo in While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

You know, it's something about that.

Or I do an acoustic segment in the show.

It's an amazing piece.

They do While My Guitar Gently Weeps, and Prince just rips it up at the end on this massive guitar solo, and it does nothing but get the fucking juices flowing.

You're just like, "Man, I just wanna go out and tear up a fucking guitar and..." And, uh, but you know.

I don't know.

I don't know what the concert was for.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

That's what he just told me.

While My Guitar.

It just happened.

I mean, think about While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

Right, you think of George Harrison's stuff later-

Yeah, love that song

W- I mean, his leap forward, [laughs]

Mm.

And it really started for me wi- with, um, While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

Yeah.

And it all builds to this one specific, undeniable climax.

The film ends with the legendary 2004 induction ceremony performance of the Beatles, while my guitar gently weeps.

An unbelievable moment.

You have this absolute supergroup on stage.

What song are

they playing? They play While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

Yes.

He fucking shreds.

How about, oh my gosh, this is another silly question I was thinking about, and I'm almost embarrassed to ask, but hopefully you guys find the humor in it.

Have you seen, or do you remember the, I think, 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performance where Prince just starts going off during While My Guitar Gently Weeps?

Yeah.

I don't know why the song could mean anything comes to mind, but have you guys ever considered just turning Kyle loose at the end of that song where his solo comes in about the four-minute mark and just give him another two minutes or three minutes? Buddy, you should ask that.
