When the Wind Blows

It's the lone animated entry.

This is a film, I don't know if it's quite a feature-length film, but it's called When the Wind Blows.

It is a cartoon about a sweet-as-hell old couple in the English countryside and nuclear war happens.

And it's about them, basically, you see them prepping.

And what's really sad about it also is... is that because this was made in the late 1980s, so this couple were kids when the Blitz was happening, and that's what they're basing a lot of this anticipation on.

They think that because after the Blitz, you know, help came and then the pharmacies and everything was open, but that's not coming after a nuclear war, after a nuclear Armageddon.

And it's really sad to see their ambivalence but you also kind of understand the ambivalence that they have about it because like how do you the the government was in no way going to prep them for the actual reality of what happens following uh a detonation of that kind of sort so yeah that's my number three when the wind blows

It's captured in a film called When the Wind Blows, which is based on a Raymond Briggs book.

He did The Snowman, Father Christmas.

You'll know his aesthetic from The Snowman.
