What's Up, Doc?

He's probably the, you know, the filmmaker in the last 10 years I've looked at the most.

I really, I have an addiction to What's Up, Doc? that's sort of inexplicable 'cause I think the movie is not perfect, and yet for some reason I can't stop watching it.

It's the best screwball comedy.

Real quick, before we go too far away from the point, one of the only other ones I can think of that sort of revived the genre at a later time, What's Up, Doc? Right? That's another one.

I'm always happy to give no-strings-attached plugs because people help people, and that is the only way to raise the vibes in this world, so for God's sake, let's get vibing! The most recent trivia question is from episode 76, when Brian Rice, a movie location tour guide out in San Francisco, joined me.

We talked about different films shot in the area, including the 1972 screwball comedy What's Up Doc? which has in the cast the wonderful Madeline Kahn.

And the question was, in addition to her scene-stealing work in What's Up Doc and her many collaborations with Mel Brooks, she also had a prominent role in a slapstick comedy that was a spoof of murder mysteries.

In it, she played Mrs.

But I do think that's why it works so well, because it's just three cars on a road in the middle of nowhere.

And there's nothing else to think about except when are the cars going to catch up to each other? There's no like, oh, what if someone like in What's Up, Doc? Oh, is someone get that's a great car chase, too.

She's got a real kind of goofy speaking voice but a beautiful singing voice and is a really, really funny actress and had a great music career.
