Andreas, welcome.

And just by brief introduction, Andreas is a consultant neurosurgeon and spine surgeon at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.

He did a number of fellowships in Japan, in Germany, and in Oxford, and has also served as past president of the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies, was quite involved in guidelines development, and he's very interested in outcomes research.

But as another area, he's actually very interested in medical and this is, I think, the genesis of the article that we'll discuss today, which I thought was quite an interesting perspective piece entitled Lessons from the 19th Century Edinburgh, a Perspective on Paraplegia Management from 1876.
