Western Conference

Um, but looking in this Atlanta Dream, New York Liberty, Vegas Valkyries, which one's gonna last the longest to you?

Well, I love that we get Western Conference and Eastern Conference Finals.

It's my favorite thing.

I know.

Despite being a game down in the playoffs, the Lynx have had a great season.

The WNBA announced a national panel named Cheryl Reeve as its head coach of the year and point guard Olivia Miles as rookie of the year, following a dominant regular season where the Lynx topped the Western Conference with the best record in the league.

This is Reeve's fifth time winning the award, the most of any coach in major American professional sports history.

But she says she didn't expect any of this to happen.

Golden State was close on their heels for a while.

But as you can see, they don't really – well, they don't separate East and Western Conference since there's not enough teams really to do that yet.

Maybe in a few years we'll have – I kind of like this though, Matt, because you just have – This is what a lot of people are talking about other sports would do, Matt, just get rid of the conference and the playoffs and just have the top eight seeds, top 16 seeds, whatever it is, just all thrown into a pool like this.

yeah yeah and that would that would be cool like the reseeding and there's there's been talk about reseeding after the playoffs because you run into some goofy matchups sometimes especially in football when you have a higher seed not the home the home team they have to go play away even though they're a higher seed just because of the divisions the way that shakes out so yeah i would be totally fine with that to separate it that way and then and then uh we can get some different matchups that we don't usually see for sure

Lot to love about the Minnesota Lynx, and here's a look at your bracket.

On the left side of the bracket, again, there's no Eastern, Western Conference yet in the WNBA.

It's all one logjam of a standings.

The Lynx are your top team.

It doesn't matter outside of that.

So who cares if you're the top of the Western Conference? It doesn't mean anything.

In the past, you used to see banners and whatnot.

But like, yeah, it's, it's not really a thing anymore.

Now, the playoff top eight, right? Top eight for the WNBA makes it a playoffs.

It does not matter whether you're in the Eastern Conference, Western Conference, doesn't matter.

Top eight teams makes it a playoffs.

Now, that has been set in stone for a long time.

And so the consistent greatness, there's a reason.

Like, name me the other Western Conference player.

I'm not trying to be facetious.

I'm just asking.

Olivia Miles had 21 points to break Kaitlyn Clark's rookie points record as Minnesota Lynx beat Connecticut 101-90.

The Lynx have a one-game lead on Golden State in the Western Conference.

Clark in the fever trying to catch Atlanta in the East, but lost today 93-77 to the Mystics.

Liberty may be finding their form, routing the tempo 106.69.

Remember, we were right

there in the Western Conference championship with them or against them two or three years in a row.

So it's not like fun, but I'm like, we do not have enough.

Like, we are not locked in enough to be able to stop.
