West Virginia Department of Agriculture

The honey industry.

Justice describes this request as only as money for the West Virginia Department of Agriculture to support the honey industry.

West Virginia's entire honey industry was worth just $1.7 billion.

As of 2023, there is not a more recent statistic because the state's honey industry is so small that the federal government no longer estimates its value.

You're gonna relocate 50-year-old trees to what? A mountaintop removal site where they'll never be able to sink a taproot and get down to the, uh, get down to the water table because the water table isn't there anymore? Uh, Fatty Patty said, "Yeah, I recognize the historical and ecological importance of chestnut and chinkypin trees at the former Clements State Tree Nursery, and I'm committed to ensuring their preservation.

Following on an October 5 assessment involving the American Chestnut Foundation, the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, and the West Virginia Department of Agriculture, a plan is now in place to protect these trees and preserve their genetic lineage."

Yeah.

Yeah, that sounds like a bunch of bullshit.
