Libraries are a lifeline, and I can't say enough good about libraries and the need to make sure that they're in every community and certainly in our schools.

Yeah, and I think more than ideology, more than generational gaps, I think incumbency was by far the biggest factor in most of the races yesterday.

I'm only aware of, I believe, one significant race where an incumbent, uh, lost their seat, which was State Senator Mike Rush in a district that includes West Roxbury, Dedham, and areas like that.

He lost to a more progressive challenger named Persis Yu.

But in general, and in almost all the races that we were covering, it was the incumbent who won, and, uh, there's-- I think Massachusetts has a reputation for being a place where incumbency is a very strong advantage given sort of the, um, one-party, you know, dominance in the state, given the sort of, like, party leadership top-down features of the state.

So I grew up in West Roxbury.

I'm number six of seven kids.

Went to school in Boston, bumped around quite a bit, ended up going to Boston Latin School, and then almost didn't go to college, but ended up just by chance going to UMass Boston, where I studied music and computers, and that was incredibly fun.

Janelle and Justin.

They admitted to staging a heist at Energy Credit Union in West Roxbury, Massachusetts, where Janelle was employed as a teller.

The men stole nearly $200,000.

So this is a scheme that is not that uncommon where you get an inside man.

And they brought it to the local law enforcement, not to the FBI, actually.

So the district attorney, not the federal U.S. attorney for this district, came out with a press release about everything that happened here.

The two brothers, according to this press release, they were arraigned in West Roxbury after having stolen over $197,000 from Energy Credit Union, a bank which the two brothers were employed.

So that when he finally did have a challenger, he was completely unprepared to defend himself with whatever record he had.

And one of the things that may have contributed to his loss was nobody in West Roxbury wanted bike lanes.

At least nobody that works for a living wants bike lanes.

Right.

Yes, yes.

I hadn't even thought about that.

But, you know, Center Street in West Roxbury, that's the heart of Rush's district, or his part, his heartland for votes.

It has been devastated by the bike lanes.
