You know, when Prabowo was newly inaugurated in October, 2024, the first thing he did is took his cabinet for a military retreat, you know, visibly showing the idea that military discipline is the way he's going to run his cabinet.

And there's another case where in West Java, where the governor was going to use military type bootcamp to deal with what they saw as recalcitrant teenagers.

So the pattern here is that you're using military structures and discipline to treat social issues or to structure social issues where perhaps that's not what's needed.

And the third one I'm interested in understanding under the proposed administration is where is the next generation of military officers heading? I'd like to get an understanding of whether these younger officers agree how they feel about the changes to, for instance, the legislation, to the use of the military in social areas, to the use of the military in non-security, traditional security areas.

Where did you grow up and what first inspired you to become a chef?

Well, I grew up in West Java, Bandung, a little bit south of Bandung, actually.

People in West Java or in Bandung will jokingly say it's Bandung Cross, since it's actually really far out from Bandung.

They say it Bandung Coret in Bahasa.

Yeah, I grew up with my grandmother.

In Bahasa Indonesia, it's called Gendang.

It's a small drum with skin on it.

And in my language, in Sundanese, where I came from in West Java, it's called Kendang.

Jakarta's international airport was the first to close on Sunday morning after volcanic ash was detected in nearby airspace.

Further airport closures followed as the ash cloud spread towards West Java.

Indonesia's meteorological agency BMKG reported that the ash reached up to 20,000 feet on the Java side of the volcano and as high as 50,000 feet on the Sumatra side.

Despite this scale of the eruption, authorities have confirmed that there is no tsunami warning in place.
