West Devon

It was collected by the Reverend Sabine Bering-Gould from James Parsons, otherwise known as The Singing Machine, due to the huge number of songs that he knew.

James lived in Loo Down, close to the Reverend Gentleman's home in West Devon.

So here is my interpretation of the song, The Wreck-Off Silly.

Come all you brisk young sailors bold, that plough the raging main.

It's from the Home Office, this.

It's not even from some local tin pot council in West Devon.

Or there's tin pot councils everywhere in this country where some idiot's written something.

This is actually from the Home Office.
