Werther Dell'Edera

[laughs]

And Werther Dell'Edera, Something Is Killing The Children: Hope Is A Knife, co-written by Tynion and horror writer Kirsten White, follows comic's protagonist Erica Slaughter, that's a cool name, who ventures to a small town in Idaho to investigate the murder of a 12-year-old girl.

Can't have the protagonist be Slaughter, though, unless it's Sergeant Slaughter.

It's, it's a whole thing.

That's cool.

[laughs] Uh, the cover artist and artist is, uh, Werther Dell'Edera.

[slap]

Is it Werther?

Which brings us to the absolute juggernaut from Boom Studios, Something is Killing the Children.

Co-created by Tynion and artist Werther Dell'Edera.

If Department of Truth is a cerebral intellectual horror, this book is purely visceral.

Yeah.

The art style feels dangerous.

Absolutely.

Werther Dell'Edera employs this incredibly sharp blood slick line work.

The violence feels heavy and consequential.

We finally got a debut date and synopsis to prove it's actually happening.

Hitting stars in December, the 64-page one-shot will be by James Tynan IV and Werther Dell'Adora, aka the team from Something is Killing the Children.

And the meta-premise finds two siblings who are fans of horror comics discovering that characters on the page are coming to life, and it's up to Erika Slaughter to hunt them down, including Swamp Thing.

Swamp Thing is Killing the Children No. 1 hits stores on December 2, 2026, with a price point of $8.99. Topaz, a rival platform to Webtoon, is being shut down in North America.
