Welsh Music Prize

Yes.

Taith, uh, recently, um, nominated for the Welsh Music Prize as well.

But yeah, talk us through the making of that and the inspirations that went into it.

So it was kind of an accident that we made an album.

Oh, amazing.

And, um, uh, this, uh, album was released on Sain as well.

Um, you know, f- formed over 50 years ago by Dafydd Iwan, um, i- i- in the news in the last year as well with Don Leisure's album and it won the Welsh Music Prize, uh, being like a sort of, um, a treasure trove going back through, uh, all those years of Sain.

What, what, what does Sain mean, uh, to yourself as a Welsh, uh, musician?

But when they do, oh, it's worth the wait, just saying.

And then the Welsh Music Prize 2026 went to Dafydd O'Wayne for his second album.

I'll be honest with you.

I don't know Dafydd O'Wayne's music, but the Welsh Music Prize is a legitimate award with a track record of finding real talent.

And a second album win is notable because second albums are where artists either prove the first one wasn't a fluke or quietly fade out.

If Dafydd O'Wayne won it for album two, that's an artist with actual staying power.
