You've been on the business panel a couple of times.

The importance of actually having true international flights coming out of Wellington Airport.

As an international businessman in Wellington, is that a real concern?

It is.

And the fact that it can be lots of connecting flights, I mean, it sounds a bit silly, but it is just one of those like it adds friction to everything.

And if we can reduce the friction, that'd be great.

Tim, I know there's a lot of discussion going on and I don't know whether you're privy to it now that you're outside the walls, but we've had the mayor that is on the board of Wellington Airport saying that now we've got the stoppers in place that you'd be fully aware of, that we can now fly further.

We just need to entice people, airlines to come here.

It's a big job.

The idea, the idea of being able to cycle from Carterton all the way to, you know, Wellington Airport basically, isn't it? That's the, that's the dream plan, but, um, we're not the best cheerleaders, but w- we will, we will be standing at the sidelines eagerly to watch the, um, the dollars come in and, and if it's built, then that's fantastic.

But yeah, I don't believe ratepayers should fund it, but let's just see what happens.

For sure.

And, you know, so it's not just you, but Christchurch have got an international airport.

How difficult is it for you and your position? I mean, and to be fair on Wellington Airport, even though they're my sponsors, they're trying to do this for international market.

How does that change things?

It's a game changer.

So that makes it a lot more expensive to come to Wellington.

So what we need to compete on... is ensuring that we've got the right product, some of the surrounding things that we have around Wellington.

So, look, the ability to look at direct international flights into Wellington is something that Wellington Airport are looking at, and we know that through the EMAS system that's out at Wellington Airport.

And at the moment, Wellington Airport has a daffodil display for daffodil month and in all of the flowers she's made in there anyway I'm commissioning her to make a whole lot of flowers for my event next year and then I said why don't I come please can I come and make some she said well as luck would have it I'm doing a workshop so I'm off Michaela and I are going to a flower making workshop And we're going to make the most glorious flowers.
