Well of Barhout

They call it a well.

The Well of Barhout, where djinns, caves, and beetles reside.

So legend has it that in the heart of eastern Yemen's desert lies a well that is a prison for djinn, J-I-N-N.

So the Well of Barhout was believed for centuries to be a possessed, poisonous, dangerous place.

And it wasn't until a team from the Omani Caves Exploration Group decided to dive into it that they uncovered the truth.

The Well of Barhoot- Barhout was discovered to be a unique spot with its very own ecosystem.

But for decades, there have been stories about the Well of Barhout, this giant hole at the edge of Yemen, believed to be a prison for uncontrollable djinn and a gateway to hell.

What is a djinn? It is a genie from the Islamic culture, an intellectual being created from fire, believed to be a shape-sh-shifter with its own free will, capable of doing good or evil.
