Welcome to Holland

Yeah, do you know what, that's really strange that you should say that, because before you said it, that's exactly what I was thinking, like, I just felt like, at the beginning of all of this, I felt like I just walked into, like, the middle of France, you know, I didn't know anybody, I didn't, I didn't know anything, no one was you know, speak in my language, and I was like, I'm here on my own, and I don't know how to navigate, but I've now got to the point where, you know, metaphorically, I'm fluent in French, and I live here now.

That's pretty much, I mean, somebody sent me that at the very beginning, that, is it called Welcome to Holland? Possibly.

yeah it's it's about it's basically a um like little poem that basically said you know you've you're you're on a plane you're ready to go to Italy you're so excited you've got all of these you know maps and guides and you know um like an Italian dictionary and then the pilot goes welcome to Holland and you have to go and you know you have to you have to buy new maps and um plan new things and it's like but you know, just because it's not where you want it to be doesn't mean that you can't, you know, have fun and adapt.

And I resonated with it so much.

It's an absolutely fantastic poem.

Yeah.

And again, kind of adjusting to what this new life is and, um, you know, going off a little bit, but, uh, that poem, you know, that not poem, but like, you know, a piece of, um, uh, writing from the Welcome to Holland.

Like, this is not, you know, the plane that I thought I was getting on and the destination that I was going to.

But, I mean, really, you just have to try to make your, you know, your setbacks prosperous, you know, turn your discouragement into hope.

Yeah.

The way that you're handling this and the way that you're thinking about it is so, I don't want to say healthy because it's like a judgment.

I just think you're doing a really good job of – accepting all of the, all of the things, like you said, you know, welcome to Holland.

You thought you were going to Italy, you know, now

And it, it, you know, it's, it, in some ways, and I said it a little bit earlier, you know, we recognized a long time ago, wow, our lives are different.

And it's just that, um, you know, you may have read that, um, the paper called Welcome To Holland, and you know, it just, it, that's not just a, a cute concept.

That really is a, n- n- no, we're really in Holland.

And we can fight that, or we can embrace it-
