No, like the actual pooping dog that they recalled that's in the movie that lives at Weird Barbie's house.

Oh, yeah.

and that's a whole other universe.

Uh, significant role in your upbringing as a little girl to the extent that there's a part of me actually that still holds like a slight grudge against my mom because she wouldn't get me a barbie jeep when i was four years old because she said i was too old for it

damn i remember when barbie had a pink but i

did i did have a life-size barbie i loved my life-size barbie and i turned that into a weird barbie by chopping its hair up uh drawing on its face so that Listen, Kate McKinnon fucking sucks.

She's given, like, the worst performance, in my opinion, in the whole movie.

Barbie starts off being stereotypical Barbie in what she describes living her best day every day in absolute perfection.

When she's told that, you know, she's given an option by weird Barbie to try and fix her flat feet in her cellulite of a high heel and a Birkenstock.

And Barbie's like, I'm not Adventure Barbie.

I don't want to know.

Right.

So, you know, it's very sort of classical call to action and denial of the call and then being told you're just going anyway.

And there is a subtle line in there where Weird Barbie says it takes two to open a portal.

Like part of this portal being opened between Barbie Land and the real world is being triggered by you as much as it's being triggered by your weird person who's playing with you.

Um, now, another costume that my daughter came up with, I think she's probably had some of the cooler ideas for Book Week costumes over the years, and this was just so adorable and so easy.

One year she went as Weird Barbie.

And if you've seen the Barbie movie, you'll know that Weird Barbie is this character, I think we all probably had a Weird Barbie when we were kids, and it's this Barbie doll that gets scribbled on [laughs] has the weird haircut, maybe that its hair got colored in with texta a few times.

They're usually wearing outrageous clothing.

Um, they've kind of, they've been through the wars.

They're the Weird Barbie.

We all had a Weird Barbie.

Um, so I don't even know if Weird Barbie's been in a book, to be honest, but, like, who cares? [laughs] It's good enough.

Yes, exactly.

I mean, every character she plays is

Can I do the Sally O'Malley leg kick? [scoffs] Obviously.

In fact, a couple years ago, my husband and I, speaking of costumes, were Alan and Weird Barbie.

And if you remember, Kate McKinnon-
