The jury had already begun deliberating, and they were looking at the charges against Privatt, who's accused of murdering and sexually assaulting his five-year-old niece back in November of 2017, nine years ago.

Now, the jury had been deliberating for several days, and according to reports from a local channel, WECT, the court received information that juror number three had been making statements about David Privatt that had not been introduced into evidence.

And folks, that is absolutely wrong.

The juror, number two, reported that juror number three had suggested that she knew more about the case than she was permitted to discuss, but she kept yapping.

And folks, there's a reason there's a sign that says, "These jail recordings are recorded," because people listen, and it sent this guy away for a long time.

Well, in a media interview with Channel WECT, Provat repeatedly denied having anything to do with Payton's death, and he said that he tried to help her after finding her unresponsive.

Well, as the timeline ticked, October of 2019, the sheriff's office announced that the investigation was stalled, although investigators were still pursuing evidence.

So two years into this, there was a dead spot.

Investigators have charged David Prevatte with killing five-year-old Peyton Fields.

She died in November of 2017, with an autopsy showing later that someone had strangled and sexually assaulted her.
