WCW Power Plant

The WCW Power Plant was in, like, Tampa.

Like, there, a lot of them trained in Clearwater, Florida.

So they...

Yeah

... uh, with WCW to go to the Power Plant.

And what was interesting is when I actually, I heard this from, you talk about the MVP gimmick, I had heard this from multiple sources, and I don't know how true it is, that Scott Hall had seen my picture backstage and that's where he, he got the idea of The Crow gimmick, uh, for Sting.

Went to Sting and he's like, "You need to do The Crow and use a baseball bat." 'Cause in the picture it's me holding a baseball bat with a black and white face paint with a black and white outfit.

Hmm.

Uh, I also understand that as of late, you've been working at the WCW Power Plant.

Yes, I have been.

I want to get a lot more involved, uh, in wrestling, and I think that bringing my femininity and with my athletic background, there's nothing wrong with being more involved in the ring.

I got into the business super young and always sort of played older, you know, and I was afraid that they would think I was too young.

And even the the natural born thrillers and some of the talent that they brought in from the power plant that was considered the quote unquote young guys were six and seven years older than me.

So believe it or not, even with my wrestling career, I've got now I'm 49.

I'll be 50 in November.

I took one round of headshots with my haircut short and it's kind of spiky in the front.

And that's actually in the process of me growing out my hair early in my career.

When I started at the power plant, I always kept my hair super short when I was a kid because I played high school sports.

Anybody who's been around high school sports knew that coaches in that era especially didn't allow you to have long hair.

The first question we always start with is, I guess, let's just say this.

Did you train and work anywhere before you went to the power plant?

Nope.

I was straight into the power plant.

Okay.

Okay.

And how did you end up getting to the power plant?

Well, it's no secret and stuff.

But Orndorff eventually, he didn't go back to WWE, but they gave him a spot in WCW, and he had a lucrative run there.

He was pretty good, and then they made him a trainer, like a, like an instructor for… WCW had a thing called The Power Plant, where they would train the next generation of guys, very similar to what the PC and NXT do for the next generation of, of professional wrestlers.

But they would bring in guys from all aspects of life, you know, whether, no matter what their background was.

Paul Orndorff was one of the trainers, and then in 2000, he was brought in for an impromptu match.
