WCOS-FM

Good Morning America did a live segment from the edge of Scape Ore Swamp.

Radio station WCOS out of Columbia put up a million dollar reward for anybody who could bring the lizard man in alive, and that brought in a different kind of visitor.

Men with rifles and shotguns and spotlights started showing up on Brown Town Road at night, parking on the shoulders, walking into the swamp.

The sheriff’s office was running patrols along the swamp roads, partly to look for the creature and partly to keep the creature hunters from shooting each other.

But we, we put this band together and had fun, and for a couple of years we just played weekends at a dinner club that, uh...

Uh, just about everybody in the band were disc jockeys at the WCOS in Columbia, South Carolina.

They just happened to be disc jockeys there.

Wow.
