Wayne Static

Well, this is a Static X story, but I thought the behind-the-scenes craziness of it is pretty interesting for the audience, so I thought I'd include this.

Static X, the band, Tony Campos and Edsel Dope, who is now filling the role of Wayne Static in the band, wearing like a robotic mask.

They are suing filmmaker Matt Zane for more than a million dollars.

And they're accusing him of sharing stolen and deceptively edited footage from the band's official documentary, Evil Disco, which still has not come out.

Matt Zane previously worked on Evil Disco and was reportedly paid $75,000.

The band claims he left the project, retained a bunch of the footage, and improperly accessed Static X's X account.

Separately, Zane is producing an unauthorized documentary about Wayne Static and his wife, Tara Ray, focused largely on the turbulent final years of their lives because they both died.

Lost drugs.

But, yeah.

The latest thing in the news that has been going on is involving your relationship with Wayne Static and the documentary that you were looking to put out about him and Tara Ray.

I guess for the audience, I would want to kind of go back a little bit to discuss when you first met Wayne and your friendship first started.

It was like a 14-year friendship, correct?

You know what I mean? Because I never went up there and saw him when he was bed bound.

I don't think he wanted me to see him or anybody for that matter.

Uh, but, uh, yeah, you know, so, so you could tell there was something I personally thought he was just going to bounce back because on a personal level, I, I have known him when he, um, uh, uh, know had partied too hard in the past and then he just gets over for a while and so he'd pull himself back and i'd be like oh okay well cool i don't i guess you don't got to step in and that that that's what a lot of people don't understand they think it was just like he met tara and it was seven years of just absolute insanity you know what i mean like just a downward spiral but it wasn't like that it was like this honestly you know there's a part in the movie where this is early this was in 2008 where i'm up in set and i turned to wayne and he's there and i'm like hey everybody it's the legend wayne static and he used to always bring a bottle to set and drink on set and he didn't have a bottle with him and i go wayne no bottle he's like yeah yeah i'm stop i'm not drinking i stopped drinking you know i was going a little too hard my kidneys were hurting me a little bit and that was one of those moments where it was like oh this guy is conscious of what he's doing and he's backing off you know so that's what I thought was going to happen after I saw him the last time.

Then it happened again, you know, after the assassin's youth thing where, um, He straight up told me, he's like, oh yeah, dude, we got really out of control.

That's what his hair looks like.

He looks like Wayne Static.
