Didn't just have two top 10 recruits, three of them using 247's composite rankings.
Isaac SchadeHOST
5:31
Brandon Wright, a one and done, was number three in the class, Ty Lawson six, and Wayne Ellington nine.
Isaac SchadeHOST
5:38
That's crazy, and that's just right on the front end of when Coach Cal really had it going at Memphis before he went over to Kentucky.
Isaac SchadeHOST
5:45
It was kind of before Duke was doing what they're doing.
Alex ToledoHOST
12:23
I feel like that's such a pet play, pet action of Giannis for years now.
Alex ToledoHOST
12:27
They got these movement shooters that feel like, in my opinion, probably are better served and things like that are coming off a pin down or in a handoff game, which is directly involving them as opposed to them just being kind of more like... constant movers which is also cool like you're still getting value there but i feel like you're getting more value if you're constantly involving them in actions and so i'm not advocating for that to be like their main thing but i do like i would like to see them sprinkle it in a decent amount just because it feels like it's like we've seen them do this with duncan with wayne ellington with you know name high volume shooter here and i think a lot of the questions that are fair about this heat offense is it was less about the shooting for me and more about offensive versatility against good teams specifically more like when you get to the tougher teams and not just getting through a regular season i don't really have any issues about how they're going to get through the regular season offense wise but against good teams what are good what are going to be their pet actions how much of it is you know stuff involving the shooters and Is there going to be a willingness from Giannis to be a screener and roller if you want to throw that in there? How much post stuff are they going to involve, if at all, by the way? Giannis was such a huge post presence as he's developed and he's an awesome post player.
Alex ToledoHOST
13:50
I think that's a way that you can get to different looks as well and kind of mix things up.
Alex ToledoHOST
13:54
And that doesn't even get into other guys who have, you know, like they've done cross screens for in the past, like bam and Portis who's, who's had that role before Wiggins a couple of seasons ago, who did some of that stuff, like how much of all this other stuff, uh, Are you involving? You know what I mean? Versus just sticking with the base.
Couper MoorheadGUEST
18:39
You can run floppy like we talked about before.
Couper MoorheadGUEST
18:42
They could dip back into handoff stuff if they want to.
Couper MoorheadGUEST
18:44
Like you mentioned, Duncan Robinson, Wayne Ellington, that's always part of the SPO system whenever they need it.
Couper MoorheadGUEST
18:51
But they've also got Bobby Portis.
Isaac SchadeHOST
10:02
He's going to wear number 22.
Isaac SchadeHOST
10:05
Riley, I can't help but think of a little Wayne Ellington when I think of 22.
Isaac SchadeHOST
10:08
Is that what comes to mind for you?
Riley DavisGUEST
10:09
Yeah, because we haven't had a good 22 since.

Rob MahoneyGUEST

It's like all of this stuff can just continue to come to roost and live on through Klay Thompson.

W- even in the in-between builds, right, with Wayne Ellington.
Alex ToledoHOST
17:19
Like, we, we've seen him b- be able to maximize these, these types of shooters.
Alex ToledoHOST
17:24
And I think putting those types of guys alongside a threat like Giannis that just commands the attention of the majority of the defense-

The, I know it's great sports talk radio stuff about legacy, but if anyone is doubting Erik Spoelstra's legacy at this point, then they are way the hell too late to the debate.
Anthony DiNardoHOST

And they know that they have the neon green light to just fire it up whenever they catch it.
Anthony DiNardoHOST
5:42
Because that's what Spoh has always told his shooters over the years, whether it was Wayne Ellington or Duncan Robinson, who at first Duncan was too shy.
Anthony DiNardoHOST
5:51
And we remember for years at the start of Duncan's tenure in Miami, Spoh used to hammer it into him.
