Wayne E. Lee

I'm Samantha Hancoxley.

The cutting-off way of war is a phrase I take from this book by Wayne E. Lee called, unsurprisingly, The Cutting-Off Way, Indigenous Warfare in Eastern North America, 1500 to 1800.

And Lee describes the cutting off way as a response to the fundamental demographic, economic, again, structural pressures that were faced by various native nations.

The long and the short of it is that these nations could not sustain mass mobilization for any length of time.
