Wayne Crawford

In August 1982, Thomas Coleman, who'd co-founded Atlantic Releasing Corporation with his partner, Michael Rosenblatt, arrived at his office carrying a copy of Newsweek, its profile of the Valley Girl phenomenon, and given him an idea.

He summoned Wayne Crawford, a writer, producer, actor on his payroll, Coleman handed him the article, titled It's Like Tubular, and told Crawford this was her next project.

Coleman recalled, I said, drop what you're doing.

I want it quick.
