Wayang

And I didn't know much about the Indian epic.

But what I found was in Indonesia and especially in Java and Bali, it's a living culture that continues through live theater, through live dance and through performances like Wayang Kulit.

So Wayang Kulit is the shadow puppets.

So you will see Wayang Kulit in both Java and in Bali.

And the thing about the Ramayana in Indonesia is it's localized for the Javanese, for Indonesian people.

So in Java and in Bali, it's been slightly adapted and changed and modified so that it suits and can be interpreted by Javanese and Balinese people.

How is that translated into the physical embodiment of the dance that you do? Do they influence each other in terms of performance and interpretation or are they completely separate art forms?

There's different ways of depicting the Ramayana.
