Watson's Bay wasn't rich at that time.

His part was, was not very wealthy.

So he, he actually plays against the New Zealand team.

... which was really an enjoyable ride, and there w- was all the announcements on, there were screens where you were going, and they were saying nice things, and then get off the train, walk straight out of the train, walk straight up, up the stairs, straight across the thing.

I waited five minutes for a ferry out to Watsons Bay.

Wow, that's amazing.

Watson's Bay is one of the-

Well, there's nothing there, bro.

If I would have focused on it, I probably could have nipped it in the bud a little bit earlier.

But it brought me to a point of 29th of December 2019, where I was literally at the edge of a place in Sydney called Watson's Bay.

And I was going, you can swear a little bit on this podcast, can't you? I

was going, shit.

And my wife was pregnant with our second child, Harper.

We've got three now.

But I remember for the first time kind of looking inward at myself and going, you didn't want to be there at Watson's Bay.

What brought you there? And I would call it loneliness now.

Americans only want to read about themselves.

And when she originally wrote this brilliant novel, it was set in Watson's Bay where she grew up in the 1930s.

And when she submitted it, The publisher said, look, you've got to change the location to America because people won't read it otherwise.

So she had the unenviable task of resetting it in Washington and possibly Maryland.

But when you're reading it, you can still see Watson's Bay Funny enough, you can still see the beach and the water and, you know, the bridges and the little fishing village that it once was.

So it's not entirely diminished by that.

So she set herself a task of setting it in America, but it's basically an autobiographical novel about her childhood.

when she was very young.
