Hello and welcome to another episode of Everything From Nothing, the Waterloo Road podcast.

I am Tom Beasley, your Waterloo Road superfan, joined by Luke Stevenson as we enter the time capsule once again.

We were so confident that our last episode would prelude the new series coming out.

I would love to do, but again, like, even at Waterloo Road, like, I'm like, is this my purpose?

Do you know what I mean? Is this what I want to do? No, you're going down in circles there, though, so it is your purpose, but that...

I feel like as much as you love playing that role and love the people there, I feel like you just want a new factor to play.

Boom.

Yeah.

But there's an element of, I feel like, you know, even now, you know, very successful in my career, did Emmerdale and Waterloo Road, done all these amazing jobs, and yet still I find it very tough and challenging now, even as an actor, the position that I'm in, to get an agent.

And, you know, I've had knockback after knockback trying to get these agents, and it's just like, if they don't want me, then I'm like, oh, well, you know, maybe I, and again, I'm using them to put myself in a little bit of a category.

And then we got Denise Welch, who I was looking into.

Who's she again? She's from Waterloo Road.

She's a loose woman.

Yes.

Yeah,

yeah.

Because I know her from Waterloo Road and I just thought she'd done loads of stuff and she was a great.

She's a great in my eyes, but she's not a great.

And at that point, she'd done a year on Doctor Who with Matt Smith.

So she's also been in other programs, you know, she'd done Waterloo Road and the Titanic program before this.

Did you notice anything different in the way that she was as an actor or some of her choices? Had they altered since her time in Emmerdale?

Um, I think Gemma was always really good.

Like, you know, just it's okay.

Or Waterloo Road as it is now.

It's like, no, it's not like this is dramatized.

You know, it's going to be okay.

Yes.

If she went, if Meghan Markle was to turn up on Waterloo Road.

Yes.

Or something like that.

Yeah, it does make sense.

I guess Waterloo Road, you know, you're playing the teacher, so in your head you kind of know, I kind of know what a teacher's about.

I know sort of how we would interact with people and so on and so on.

What's the Sith Lord going to be like? You know, you don't...

she's this is a mother to daughter she's had roles in shameless skins waterloo road eastenders and her films include 24 hour party people fat slags gladiatris and finding emily in 2023 she brought her show on the run to the fringe and then toured the uk this year she's back with white lies Hi Fiona, how are you?
