Waterloo Bucks

I won't be going fully away, but I will not be returning full-time in Wausau as the broadcaster, but very, very happy and excited to announce that Scott Montesano will be filling the shoes of the role that I was pursuing last year.

He's got phenomenal experience, including the UW-Eclair college athletics program, the Eau Claire Express, Chippewa Steel, Alton River Dragons, Traverse City Beach Bums, Waterloo Bucks, and the Des Moines Buccaneers.

So he brings a very long laundry list of broadcast experience to the Wausau Cyclones.

So that's very exciting as well.

But, uh, it's, it's really cool to see what you're doing sti- I mean, you're still obviously one of the best pitchers in the bigs.

But we noticed, we were at the All-Star Game this year, and, like, the reverence, you know, you talk about the young guys, the reverence that all those guys have for you and how they want, you know, they were telling us they wanted to get into the clubhouse early to kinda just sit around and, like, share a game with you and kinda pick your brain and stuff like that.

So how did you kind of get into being with them?

So I started in, uh, with the Waterloo Bucks actually in Waterloo Island, Northwoods league in after college, about a year after in the late nineties and was the assistant GM there for about three and a half years.

And then, uh, our league was expanding all the time.

Of course, uh, you know, back then, I think when I got in, we had eight teams in the league.
