Trump meets with Xi at the White House on Thursday after holding talks earlier in the week with leaders of the United Kingdom, Japan, and Gulf nations during the U.N. General Assembly in New York City.

The Surface Transportation Board will continue its review of a proposed merger between Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern after denying requests from rival railroads and several shipper groups for a summary denial.

In a decision Friday, the board found that while merger opponents' motions and comments raise important questions and issues, a ruling on the merger would be better informed by a more complete record.

The Pentagon is only a short distance from where we broadcast, and as I drive by it on my way home, I almost always think about, apart from how evil the attacks were, just how improbable they were.

I'm sure most of you remember that feeling of disbelief watching the planes hit the Twin Towers, that first question, how did they force the pilots to do that, that was followed by the terrible realization, good God, the terrorists flew the planes themselves.
