Warrior Games

I got really lucky.

I was up at Walter Reed training for the Warrior Games, and I met this really cool guy over here, Ryan Major.

He brought me out to his rugby practice.

They were the Maryland Mayhem at the time, and I played and trained with them, and then he let me know Oscar Mike was a thing.

The other really nice thing, as I mentioned this, because we are also an event management company, the service after sale that we can work with these groups is phenomenal.

So, for example, it was 2025, the Department of Defense Warrior Games was here in Colorado Springs.

And what was so unique about that is, again, we didn't have a bunch of financial incentives to send them, but they They wanted to be in Colorado Springs a lot in that particular case, obviously, because we are so tied to the military.

But the fact that the sports corporation is an event management company when they're asking for, hey, who do you guys use for signage or trash totes? Or if I mean, we have a storage warehouse of equipment.

If it's the chamber in EDC, if it's business relocation.

And then it really just depends.

So, for example, the Department of Defense Warrior Games.

That one made a lot of sense for the chamber and EDC to get involved in because a lot of the people that were here for that fit our sector.

We have virtual programs, in-person programs.

You can find me in a lot of military events like Invictus Games and Warrior Games and soon to be with the Air Force Wounded Warrior Regiment, which is so exciting.

to bring the medicine of nature and these incredible tools of alchemy to the world.

Freedom begins with each of us through our breath.

He allegedly founded it in 2014 for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans.

He got the idea after seeing the Warrior Games in the US in 2013 and brought in Sir Keith Mills, the man behind London 2012, to help build it.

Well, that's the official story anyway.

The next Games is in Birmingham, tends to the 17th of July, 2027, and there'll be around 550 competitors from 25 nations.

But Shauna Kay on the Vintage Read podcast has been digging, and she found something interesting.

It's a statement from March 2013, two months before Harry went to the Warrior Games.

In it, the U.S. Olympic Committee says that it and the Royal Foundation had been working together since last year on programs for people with physical disabilities, including wounded veterans.

And it describes those programs as already in the making.
