War of Will

It was fun.

This filly, however, um, we, we, uh, kind of, uh, sired w- with a wonderful, uh, grade one champion named War of Will.

Mm-hmm.

And unbelievable pedigree.

The fact that my wife and I bred it, she planned the mating, it's fun, but it's, we just want to have a good horse and we got one.

Well, what about the, he was the first grade one winner for War of Will, and I know you've partnered with Gary Barber and quite a few horses who campaigned War of Will during his racing career.

How special was that to, you know, kind of help Gary out there in that sense to get War of Will, that first grade one winner?

That means more to me than having bred the horse.

Gary's been a big supporter of my program.

I consider him to be a good friend.

And he put a lot of effort and money and hopes and dreams into War of Will.

And I'm glad that he's got one that's this good.

So talk about

the decision to go to War of Will.

Okay, that's my wife's.

I'm giving her the full credit on that.

And, you know, at the time we did it, War of Will wasn't as mediocre as it looked a year or two later.

You know, some guy wrote that we only spent five grand to brief him.

That's not true.
