And I thought Newcastle and the, and the War Flags group staged it brilliantly.
J
3:54John MurrayHOST
You know, to have it all around the stadium, and also what was really effective was that they gave it a little bit of space to breathe before the match, before the teams came out.

And I think given the, given the day, I suppose if you look at the entire day with the tributes to King Kev, you know, I thought the display from War Flags with the jerseys was amazing, the T4.
M
6:15MartinPANELIST
Um, I thought the whole ground looked absolutely ju- it just looked unbelievable.
M
6:20MartinPANELIST
And I think, you know, the respect that was shown and, and, you know, the, the display for the man, I, I think was just, uh, I, I don't think you'd see it anywhere else.

well even before the display you were seeing all the former players that were there as well so like that leash was there and and you know lots of former players format and then when the scenes come up as well the way they had the Keegan with the Liverpool fans doing it them getting involved it was absolutely I mean war flags never you think they can never top themselves and then they put something on like that and it was a fitting tribute a deserving tribute and it was just incredible incredible to see
S
5:45speaker_3HOST
Yeah, and obviously you mentioned some ex-players.
S
5:47speaker_3HOST

again but uh let's talk about king kevin because it was a phenomenal emotional display for the legend that is kevin keegan his family in attendance um a lot of his entertainers in attendance and you know the display from war flags bring them up amazing the atmosphere the fans again i think it was just that that made that happen it was a bit like the psg night i mean it was mental that that game was just the first game of the season against Liverpool but because of Keegan and then you bring in the whole Isaac drama as well yeah it was written in the stars wasn't it you bring in all of these factors and it just made for an amazing amazing atmosphere like it was out of this world and it was also very emotional and when the game kicked off it clearly fed onto the pitch since we've seen that with the earlier Lange goal but That display, Keg.
M
14:18MattyHOST
The full stadium, and again, shout out to the Liverpool fans.
M
14:21MattyHOST
They got involved with that with the Keegan at the top of the away end.
M
14:23MattyHOST
You know, they did their part and the fans, war flags, the club, and then the players and the pitch.
M
14:29MattyHOST
Just what an emotional scene that was.
K
14:32KeggyHOST
It really was.
K
14:32KeggyHOST
was emotional yeah and it was incredible I think it was like written in the stars like for Liverpool to be our first game like obviously the fixtures came out before Kinkaf passed on and then we were all saying it's all scripted and stuff scripted for the Isaac thing and then Victor Munoz as well but like it is fitting that it obviously was Liverpool that was our first game first competitive game at least anyway yeah uh for us to have that moment and and credit the war flags for even involving liverpool and thinking to like continue the the decoration up there with the the red the red banners with the white writing so it's like the back of your shirt and at the bottom was the black and white with the number seven on like making it look like a shirt like a crossed shirt between liverpool and a new asshole shirt really well thought out really well designed every single person with a black and white card holding it up making the place look unbelievable i've got the t4 up there as well the the minute applause it was just absolutely unbelievable it was really emotional uh and really really fitting like if it was any other team in the league it might not have had that special moment i mean it would have for us i'm sure liverpool probably would have had their own display as well because obviously he's a liverpool legend as well man so he

Pete, your thoughts on the tribute to the King, Kevin Keegan.
P
5:46PeteHOST
Yeah, it was emotional, I can't lie, just seeing all the, like you said, all the ex-players there, the war flags, the reaction from both sets of fans, I just thought it was very, very fitting for a very, very special man, particularly for Newcastle United as player and manager.
P
6:06PeteHOST
Yeah, it got the emotions going.
