That's the reason why they're so afraid of us.

Not because of the caps we wear or the clothing we wear.

Very good question.

So when I spoke about different types of money, which I think is the core of a lot of these discussions, Waqf is one of those types of monies.

So first of all, let's talk about the period of time.

So yes, absolutely, we had periods of time where it was difficult to give out zakat.

So paying our salaries, paying rent, you know, all those core costs of running your charity so that your campaign money doesn't have to be taken away 12.5%, however your funding is of gift aid.

we get out of this seasonal madness to cover our core costs.

But you think Waqf

isn't the only answer to that?

The financial integrity of the mosque and the Islamic center, it's very important.

This is why in Islam we have the idea, the concept of endowment, waqf.

Waqf means, in the old days, when they build a mosque, They build next to it some shops on the right side, on the left side, at the back of the mosque, sometimes above some apartments, you know, above the mosque.

And they rent them out, and the revenue goes to the mosque itself.

This is an old idea, waqf, which exists in many, many Muslim countries.

And so a very delicate balance there.

These are what we would assume are shared holy sites, despite the fact that they're actually just Jewish holy sites that the Muslims conquered and then kept.

We've talked about the status quo agreement on the Temple Mount and how Israel gave the Temple Mount to the Waqf, the Jordanian leadership, in order to make peace and say we don't want to steal or cause issues for the Muslims to pray on their holy site, despite the fact that it is in fact a Jewish holy site.

But we have seen this double standard or this win-win situation on the Temple Mount.

Because the Palestinian Arabs who cause issues on the Temple Mount, whether it's destroying their own places, attacking people on the Temple Mount, it ends up causing international incident.

Yes.

We were told, when we were, we were on the Temple Mount, and the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is under the, the nominal control of the Waqf, which is the Islamic organization based in Amman, Jordan-

Mm-hmm

... uh, that controls, you know, what goes on on the Temple Mount.

So you see police and IDF up there.

Right.

But the, the Waqf is in control, and you know, the two of us were just sitting there resting while our tour group was wandering around the Temple Mount.

Mm-hmm.

Can we synthesize those two ideas? Yes.

I think that practically today, how would you go about building the temple when you have all these political barriers? Where you have the Temple Mount is technically in the hands of the Waqf, which is a Jordanian Muslim authority.

You have the Dome of the Rock built right over the Even HaShtiya, the actual rock upon which the temple is supposed to stand.

So there-- It doesn't look like there's any way to politically, diplomatically get rid of the Dome of the Rock and, and rebuild the Third Temple.

And also, like, who would do that? Like, who would run that project? And, you know, in Judaism, everything's gonna be debated.

So which rabbis are gonna be responsible for deciding how the temple should be built? They're gonna argue about everything, you know.

Which is I think one reason why in 1967, when the, when the IDF actually liberated Jerusalem and took the Temple Mount- The rabbis essentially colluded with the secular government to give up the Temple Mount to the Waqf, 'cause I think they just didn't want the responsibility of, like, who's gonna manage this place, right? And who-- If, if we have it, then we're gonna be responsible to actually build the temple.

So better that we don't have it.
