yeah and so I mean as Doc Rowe goes in search of morphine and more supplies he asked Walter Smokey Gordon if he has any scissors and I love this response he says well let's see I'll have to check the sewing room might be upstairs in the study that skinny old drawer in the middle of the desk and once again we're seeing humour of the men coming out despite the bleakness of that yeah the situation they're in and the slightly jovial tone continues and we're quite a way into the episode now and we're only just treated to the first of many explosions as one of the trees you kind of almost hear that and the men shout incoming and one of the trees that explodes as the shell hits and the men die for cover and i want to take a moment to share a quote i recently heard from a guy called Ernest Junger.

So he was a German who fought in the First World War.

And in the Restless History podcast, they were talking about, they did an episode around the First World War, and they mentioned his book, Storm of Steel.

Not banging from the rooftops about it.

So Smokey Gordon announces that Carwood Lipton, who we've mentioned a few times as we've seen more examples of his leadership, that he's the new Easy Company First Sergeant who has an announcement to make.

And once again, we see that jovial mood as we saw in the previous episode when the men are told that they will not be returning to England and to fill out their wills.

It's broken again as Carwood Lipton announces that the men are moving out again.
