Wally Walker

Anyway, the Portland Trail Blazers, outside of Jerry West, Randy Moss, who I, I didn't know, I officiated Randy Moss's junior high basketball games, and he was a man amongst boys.

But Wally Walker played for the University of Virginia Cavaliers in his college basketball days.

I knew Wally Walker because he was a counselor at Jerry West Camp when I went to Jerry West Camp as a seventh grader, eighth grader, and I got to know Wally.

We got to talk a, a bit, and I became a Wally Walker fan.

He was a heck of a basketball player.

He ended up being drafted or at least playing for the Portland Trail Blazers, and I followed him for a while when I was still watching the NBA as a, as a scholastic athlete myself, and that's how I became aware of the franchise.

He's been watching Byron Beck.

27 to 16, and the bucket by Wally Walker.

An overhand hook from the right side, or whatever you call it.

Webster, McClain, backs in on Walton, back out to Thompson.

[siren blaring] [crowd cheering] Holy backboard, folks.

What a night we're having.

Wally, Wally Walker is hurting, Bill.

He's gonna come out of the game.

So introducing my guest is Jack Sigma, the starting center at the World Championship team and a long career in the NBA.

Wally Walker, who was one of the key integral players on the championship team as well.

Dennis Autry was a backup center and did his time working in the NBA for a lot of years and also a key contributor.

And Joe Hassett, he didn't play much, but he was contributing quite a bit.

No? Hey.

Okay, let's come back to you, Jack.

Wally Walker, hey, man, you are on that championship team.

Contributed quite a bit.
