Wallows

Oh, how lovely to hear all of your stories and associations with our non-human counterparts, our plant friends.

We just played Trustful by Wallows, which brings us to our Art Plus Music segment.

Our Art Plus Music segment connects visual art to sonic compositions, pairing our senses together.

And this week, Aditi has chosen a song and an art piece.

Because I was like, wow.

I've never viewed an object in that kind of way, but I kind of understand that notion of still life and just being in that one position, I guess.

The reason why I picked Trustful by Wallows is purely because I think their music style really fits this cozy yet simple way.

And I think also a specific song with this song, there's a line that says like, dreams, comfort and change.

Exactly.

God knows we might, Mrs. Wallows, you know what I mean?

[laughs]

Um, so, so yeah, it's j- it's just difficult and yeah, look, I, I think you... as well, you've got to allow, you know, if players do make, you know, what we would class as mistakes, you've got to allow players to grow.

Without further ado, Austin, take us away.

Uh, okay, yeah, so, uh, with no further ado, let's get into Campaign 3, Season 3, Episode 8, Jesus Christ, these go by fast, of Rolling with Difficulty, Hunting Party, Back to the Beastlands, when last we left our heroes! Boop! You had traveled back to the Nama, where things were getting crowded, before heading tailward, following the edge of the mountain range that is Elysium Word, into the Wallows, where you got to meet the current Warlord.

However, things got a little hairy as there was a flash flood.

The area was being flooded by one of the servants of the Aboleth, this corrupted storm giant who had flown to the top of this butte, and there were all these, you know, there's sandstone, there were all these fossils in there, and was using this ancient place of power where this dragon had died to summon a storm, a great storm that would flood everything downhill.

Matilda grew up in Shepherd's Bush in West London and attended the Brit School, where she began writing and recording her own music.

She came to wider attention as the runner-up in Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition and has since supported the likes of Arlo Parks, Tom O'Dell and Wallows.

Her debut album, Roxwell, came out in 2025, and now she's back with Kissmet, a record drawing on the sounds of Al Green, Carole King, and The Carpenters.

Her single, Bittersweet, premiered as Radio 1's hottest record early this year, and she joined me in the studio for our conversation.

Yeah.

Well, I mean, if I'm supporting people, I like to kind of cater myself to kind of what music they have and stuff.

So when I supported the Wallows, they've got like really fun, upbeat music.

So I think like having a band is very necessary to support a band like that.
