South Korea's possible troop deployment to the Middle East has once again emerged as the hot topic at the National Assembly.

And the curator extraordinaire that we're going to be talking about today is Kim Seung-duk, as Jae-woo just said, and her works.

But first, as usual, Jae-woo, what exhibition are you giving us a tour of?

Okay, so the title of this wonderful show is Up Against the Walls.

It's co-curated by Kim Seung-duk and yet another fantastic curator, Frank Gothero.

Just going to jump right into this first tale.

Time now for the tale of It Came Through the Wall.

It happened in the middle of the afternoon, which according to the young man who shared this story years later, is one of the reasons he still has such a hard time explaining what happened.

They were just goofing around, not taking what they were doing seriously.

He said he had to meet a wizard.

The brothers' voices carry together like two wolves howling as one.

The building was a concrete shell, renovated just enough to be livable.

Walls, a roof, functional plumbing.

But the original structure was still there underneath, cracks in the concrete that showed the older concrete underneath that.

The building had been built, destroyed, and rebuilt three times.

Great.

This year's Drawing Board competition brief is about Story of a Wall, and I'm curious to explore insights about the wall as a form mainly.

With the other jury, Prem Chandavarkar, we spoke wall as politics.

Obviously, we can digress there.

But is there any physical form, like physical aspects of a wall, say height, width, length, that can feel intimate or can feel imprisoning just because of its sheer form factor?

Purely depends on how it's presented to you.

For instance, if you see a great wall that is probably, whatever the size is, the Great Wall of China, from a great distance, it looks it's a beautiful thing that snakes its way through a landscape.

But if you are presented with a wall be- through, say for instance, you have to pass through a little passage that is already quite intimidating on sides, and then you're confronted with the same wall with a different set of aspects leading up to it, then it can become very intimidating as well.

The window openings were closed by batten shutters, operated by hinges of wood and fitted with wooden fastening devices.

Most of the hand-painted tiles used at Jamestown for decorating walls and fireplaces were imported from Holland.

A few were made in England.
