Walima

It wasn't extensive or elaborate like it was at the time of Zainab radiallahu anha.

However, they were still traveling, and Nabi sallallahu alaihi wasallam, he prepared for the walima.

Walima, technically, from a shari'i perspective, walima is the meal which is fed after the couple spend the first night together.

This is the correct understanding of walima means.

Nowadays, it's not always done in that way, but this is how, uh, it was done by the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam, and that's what it actually means.

Yeah, so on that, I would say at the early stages, it definitely would be around who's paying for the wedding.

And what does the wedding actually look like in terms of are we having a small Nikkah? Are we having a big Nikkah? Are we doing a Waleema? Are we doing this? Are we doing that?

What does small or big even look like?

Yeah, right? What kind of function is that? Do they have a budget in mind? Who do they feel is the responsibility to pay for whatever function, right? And this is, again, like the early stages of things starting to pop off because culturally there's a lot of things where the parents would pay for the weddings, right? But nowadays, like, unfortunately, it's just a lot harder.

If a poor person is getting married to a poor woman and they are getting angry and there are no gatherings of sin in the wedding, then it is better not to attend the wedding.

You should go to the Waleema, especially if you are the Waleema of a close relative.

And if you are not a very busy person, then you should go to the Waleema.

It is necessary.

The Prophet has wrongly declared the invitation to the Waleema to be rejected.

And if the danger is that there will be a gathering of sins, like a mix gathering, or musicians are playing songs, then it is not permissible to go.

Or that if there is a person like me, who is getting invited from somewhere every other day, then we will keep going, then we will be left with the same work.
