Wales national rugby league team

I believe, and Tony'll have to correct me on this one, I believe the French then suggested, "Oh, if we're not gonna have the USA, then we need to get Wales in there." They, for some reason they had this idea that they wanted to have a fifth team in there, or whether it was just, you know, they wanted to have more than just the four teams in there.

And I'd always wondered if that was the case, was Great Britain's opposition to it because they didn't w- they didn't wanna weaken the, the Great Britain side by splitting the Welsh players out of it.

Because obviously then as well, I mean, there would've been different accents in the Great Britain team, wouldn't there, Tony? There would've been a Scottish accent, a Welsh accent, if there was Scottish and Welsh players in there.

Oh, absolutely.

Well, Great Britain was captained by a Scotsman, Dave Valentine.

Mm-hmm.

And, uh, um, one of the try scorers, um, in the final, David Rose, was also a Scotsman as well.

So it was Eng- Englishman, Scotsman, and Welshman in the team.
