Waking Hours

janice long was on on the weekday johnny walker was doing the lunchtime show so there were a lot of very well respected presenters who'd either previously been on radio one or who were coming up and so it was musically influential we had a lot of bands in for sessions or interviews and that unlocked access to a lot of a lot of um of gig tickets in my early 20s and so i was going to a load of live music during that era so you you know i know you're a big delametri fan um as a station before delametri um kind of were having mainstream chart hits then they were a band that were very much being championed by glr We had some amazing live sessions in our basement studio.

And I remember that When Nothing Ever Happens from Waking Hours was the single that they were promoting at the time.

They came in and did an acoustic performance of that, which to me was even better than the recorded version.

And I was just able to watch that from the other side of the glass.
