Well, the operation manager for Leeward Drive-In, Alex Monterosso, has opened a GoFundMe page to raise money to rebuild a kitchen and to recover lost income.

Leeward Drive-In is asking for help to reopen after a fire destroyed and shut down the eatery last Friday.

The popular Waipahu diner has been around since 1964 on the corner of Pupukahi and Pupupani Streets.

Flames gutted the kitchen.

Repairs are now underway.

You don't need a reservation, but parking fills up on weekends, so go early and bring cash because cards come with a 3.5% fee.
